Realtors want the tax credit close date extended

I was browsing the Wall Street Journal today ( as I usually do while using my monocle) and came across this article that I felt was relevant to agents/buyers and sellers.  The real estate lobby is asking that Congress extend the date at which transactions must close in order to qualify for the tax credit. Currently, you had to be under contract by April 30th and close by June 30th.The problem is that short sales and foreclosures take much longer than the typical real estate closings of between 30 and 45 days.

Uptown Jive: World Cup Fever

There comes a time when a sport not so popular in the United States takes over our soles and bounds us to televisions, radios, computers, walkmans, or ESPN for one month every four years. Lads and Gents, the World Cup of Soccer (or Fútbol) has arrived, and that being said, sitting on your couch huddled over popcorn and a turkey sandwich won’t cut it for this one. Where better to go and get the full experience than a Pub in Uptown.

How The Winslow Family, Urkel, and the rest of the Family Matters crew ALMOST ruined our country's morale. Gooooooo real estate!

"It's a rare condition, this day and age, to read any good news on the newspaper page..."

When you hear that o, so poetic verse, you probably think of sitting at home on a Friday night with a piece of Little Ceasar's pizza, your nerf gun, a bag of Cool Ranch Dorito's, with your best friend Bobby sitting in the beanbag next to you. The Winslow family, Waldo (the fat lipped neighbor), and the iconic Steve Urkel helped raise me, but I never knew that the anchor show of TGIF was really brainwashing me.

Keeping Your Homes Foundation Happy in the Heat...

I’m guessing most of us don’t think about our homes foundation the way we think about our skin during the heat of summer. Just as our skin cracks when exposed to excessive heat so does our homes foundation. When the soil under the foundation expands it begins to act as a sponge. As the soil absorbs the water it swells and as it loses water it shrinks. This swelling and shrinking of the soil causes a shift in the foundation from all the excessive movement.

Uptown Jive: In search of Water

I hope everyone enjoyed their beautiful, sun-filled memorial day weekend, especially in Dallas. This past weekend I was fortunate enough to see how Dallas cools off on the weekends in Uptown. When looking for an Apartment, Condo, Townhouse, or House in Uptown, you may want to consider the amenities more than other property seekers. When the sun is out, not a cloud in sight, and the temperature teeters around 100 degrees Fahrenheit, a pool almost become a necessity.
