Trinity Gateway Project: Kind of a Big Deal

As a Dallas realtor, I am always interested in what is happening around town. I was excited to learn that it looks like the plans for the Dallas Trinity River Park are evolving into something much bigger than originally anticipated. This area will be a great opportunity for new retail to move in, and give the nearby neighborhoods a much needed boost. Check out this link for more details:

How to Make Moving Easier on Your 4-Legged Family Members

I know for me, my dog has never been just a "dog," he is my son! Our pets thrive on love and affection, but they also are comfortable in their routines. Moving is hectic on everyone, so you know it won't be easy for your pet either. Here are a few things you can do to make your move a little less stressful for your pup or kitty:

1. Visit the veterinarian: ask about sedation options for travel, vaccination needs, and be sure your pet is micro-chipped in case they are lost during your move somehow. Also, be sure to locate a trusty vet's office near your new home.

The Common Table: Great New Spot in Uptown

Uptown is definitely home to some of the best spots in Dallas to grab a bite to eat. The Common Table is a newcomer that is definitely worth trying out.

The atmosphere is very warm and inviting- I would even say refreshing. There are several dozen beers on tap, and they even have someone on staff solely specializing in the beer selection. They actually even let you sample several beers before you order. The wine and cocktail menus are great too.

Is your home photo ready?

Are you about to list your home? As you probably know, with most buyers doing a majority of their home searching online, great photos are more important now than ever. I thought I would list a few things you can do to get your home ready for the best possible photos to be taken.

Dallas Home Sales Are Up!

According the Dallas Morning News, second quarter home sales in Dallas are up 12.38%. This marks the third period in a row of increases in Texas. Many Realtors say this is due to an improving economy in the state and a jump in homebuying caused by federal tax credits. ”We’re encouraged to see continued strength in Texas’ real estate market as 2010 marches forward,” Texas Association of Realtors chairman Bill Jones said in the report.

What is the word on the street?

I have been reading Eat, Pray, Love, and it got me to thinking about the great city where I live, Dallas. In the book, the author says “Every city has a single word that defines it, that identifies most people who live there.” She explains that if you could read everyone’s thoughts, the “word of the city” is what the majority of people in any city are thinking.

Slowly but surely, Dallas home prices are on the rise...

I found some good news about the local housing market and I thought I would share it. According to the latest Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller Home Price Index report, Dallas home prices are continuing to increase. This study shows specifically a 2.9 percent increase in home prices in May from a year ago. This is less of an increase than the national average of 4.6 percent, but that is a bit misleading because some areas had much more dramatic drops in years past, and had more to make up for.
