New $400M Dallas redevelopment project

Dallas-based Matthews Southwest and Toronto-based Tricon Capital Group Inc. have acquired and plans to develop a 60 acre mixed-use development a half mile south of the Dallas Convention center.

The project is estimated to cost $400 million and will include residential, commercial and retail uses.  The project will focus on transit-oriented and urban environments that will play into the multibillion dollar Trinity River Corridor Project.

White House Unveils Mortgage-Refinance Program Today

According to the Wall Street Journal, Obama will promote new rules that will help homeowners refinance their mortgages. The major overhaul of a mortgage-refinance program will be unveiled this afternoon during the President's trip to Las Vegas. The new rules are part of an executive order, meaning that they do not need approval by Congress. The plan will allow borrowers to refinance their homes regardless of how far their homes have fallen in value, thus eliminating previous limits.
