What Happened 94 Years Ago Today?

 

94 years ago today, Oregon imposed the countries first gas tax. It was a 5¢ per gallon tax. In the following decade, all of the U.S. states (48 at the time), along with the District of Columbia, introduced a gasoline tax. By 1939, an average tax of 3.8¢ per gallon of fuel was levied by the individual states.

More jobs mean more development!!

Employment in Dallas-Forth Worth is continuing to rise and experts believe that new job opportunities in 2012 will likely outnumber 2011's. Nearly 80,000 jobs were created in the DFW metroplex from Nov. 2010 - Nov. 2011 according to the Census Bureau. More jobs mean more residential development. Wood Partners has closed on an acquisition of a 5-acre property in the southwestern part of Dallas and plans to begin construction on a low-rise apartment property this month.

The upside of uptown!

One of the greastest things about living in Uptown is the vast amount of restaurants and bars just steps, or a trolley ride, from your condo or apartment. You can find a restaurant or bar on just about any corner in Uptown Dallas. The newest addition to the corner of McKinney Ave. And N. Hall St. is Del Frisco's Grille. The Grille has many of the same items you would find in a Del Frisco's Steakhouse, along with a more casual menu for people not looking to spend a lot, while not wanting to skimp on taste.
