12 Straight Months of Increasing Home Values
National home values rose by 1.1% in October from September, the largest monthly gain in seven years, according to a recent report released by Zillow.
All of the 30 largest metro areas that were tracked posted gains in October from September except for Chicago. This is the first time housing markets have recorded 12 straight monthly gains in the Zillow survey since the housing sector's long slide began in 2006.

Rental Homes in Dallas
Need to rent a home? According to the US Commerce Department, the residential vacancy rate fell from 8.8 percent to 8.6 percent in the period from January to March of this year. The US has not seen this low of a vacancy rate in rental homes in over a decade. The tightening rental market definitely can keep rental rates up since the supply is low.

Bullet train between Dallas and Houston
Bullet trains are a form of transportation many Texans thought they'd never see unless they were on vacation in Asia or Europe. But rail advocates say a proposal to build a high-speed line connecting Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston may happen a lot sooner than expected, possibly 2020.
A group led by Central Japan Railway Co. that includes notable Texans such as former Harris County Judge Robert Eckels is seeking roughly $10 billion in private investment.

Cotton Bowl gets $25 million for makeover
The Cotton Bowl recently received $25 million of capital earmarked for improvements that include new seating and renovations of public spaces that will reignite the 80-year-old stadium's prestige among Dallas-Fort Worth fans.
The last time the Cotton Bowl received significant funding from the city was in 2006. At that time, the stadium upgraded its infields and scoreboards, which were completed two years later.

Fake it Till you Make it...
Ok, so all indications of the current real estate market in the DFW area suggest that its a super time to buy. For that, we are grateful! Interest rates are at historical lows and inventory is actually below what is considered a "normal" market supply.
