SMU starts its Living Village project
Students at Southern Methodist University (SMU) are beginning their second annual Living Village project. The project focuses on engineering temporary shelters designed for refugees or rapidly expanding populations.
The project is an interactive display and teaching tool for the school's Engineering and Humanity Week, which starts today.
This year, the shelters are designed for longer-term habitation and SMU students will live, cook and sleep within them. The students will live without luxurious amenities such as running water or electricity.

Discover Dallas
As I drove back and forth to my 9 to 5 I never took the opportunity to discover Dallas. So yesterday I did just that. I ventured into East Dallas where I found communities such as Lakewood, Junius Heights, and Hollywood Hills. For years I heard of the revitalization of East Dallas but if I could not see if from the highway I did not pay attention.
