SMU starts its Living Village project

Students at Southern Methodist University (SMU) are beginning their second annual Living Village project.  The project focuses on engineering temporary shelters designed for refugees or rapidly expanding populations.

The project is an interactive display and teaching tool for the school's Engineering and Humanity Week, which starts today.

This year, the shelters are designed for longer-term habitation and SMU students will live, cook and sleep within them.  The students will live without luxurious amenities such as running water or electricity.

Beautiful Bluffview: Dallas’ little known gem

Tree-lined streets, rolling hills, flowing streams, hidden estates nestled next to modest 1950-era homes.  Where are you?  Doesn’t sound like Dallas, does it!  Welcome to Bluffview!  This beautiful little neighborhood is located one mile east of the Dallas Tollway, between Lovers Lane and Northwest Highway.  If you haven’t heard of Bluffview, or you didn’t know exactly where it was, you are not alone.  Bluffview is a well-hidden neighborhood, which the locals love!
