More jobs mean more development!!

Employment in Dallas-Forth Worth is continuing to rise and experts believe that new job opportunities in 2012 will likely outnumber 2011's. Nearly 80,000 jobs were created in the DFW metroplex from Nov. 2010 - Nov. 2011 according to the Census Bureau. More jobs mean more residential development. Wood Partners has closed on an acquisition of a 5-acre property in the southwestern part of Dallas and plans to begin construction on a low-rise apartment property this month.

#1 for a Reason

Things are different at Rogers Healy and Associates. I joined the team just after RHA was voted the Best Place to Work by the Dallas Morning News and I'm not a bit surprised why they won. It's just a different vibe.. It's fun, the energy is indescribable and everyone's work ethic is top notch. People are on a mission up here, so much that I decided to cut all of my hair off to reduce drag in this fast-paced environment. (it looks awesome-I was actually told that I now have Hollywood hair) Speaking of Hollywood..

Dallas Rental Market Booming!

As I had written yesterday, more and more development is planned for the Dallas residential rental market. The open lot that many of us have driven by just north of City Place has Houston developer, Hanover Co. licking their chops. They've proposed constructing a five-story, 400 unit apartment complex on the 4.4 acre property. This, with the recent recent construction on the corner of 75 and Blackburn, keeps adding to the Boom in Uptown, Dallas. We're excited to see the completion of these projects and help these developers lease their properties!!

More hype around Katy Trail..

It looks like another development proposal has been submitted to the City to develop near Katy Trail, which is no surprise. Alamo Manhattan Carlisle LLC is wanting to replace a Carlisle Street office complex with a 9 story apartment project adjacent to the Katy Trail. The property is already zoned for high rise construction while the complex is to have 200 apartments and 2 courtyards facing Katy Trail. In addition, StreetLights Residential plans to build a 16 story tower with 300 units!

Great people watching on a Tuesday night!

If you enjoy some of the best Mexican food, margaritas, and people watching in Uptown, Dallas, Primo's Bar and Grill is the place to be, especially on Tuesday nights. It's been a happening place for years and definitely one of my favorite places to hang out. It's situated right in the heart of Uptown, across from 2 new restaurants: Del Frisco's Grill and Private Social. If you're in the area, stop in for one of their famous $2 margaritas and enjoy the great vibe this Uptown restaurant has to offer!

My name is Brodie Flanders and I love all things Real Estate. Speaking of real, Rogers Healy and I had a meeting with some folks at ReelFX this week. Aside from meeting an awesome Canadian, can you believe it takes an animator 1 whole week to make 3 seconds of animation?!!!
