Knox Henderson: the new uptown?

The little area just off 75 in the Knox Henderson area has had some established places for the past couple of years: The Old Monk, Vickery Park, Candle Room, The Porch, Cuba Libre, and Victor Tango's. The developments father down on Henderson have blown up since last Summer. If you haven't driven down the street or been out for a night in this area, you need to make your way over there soon. Capitol Pub, Hacienda, Axiom Sushi, J. Black's (originally from Austin), Park, and a plethora of other restaurants and bars have popped up just in the past year. Jake's Hamburgers has a sign out on a lot signaling a new development coming soon! The area which used to be a pretty rough part of town has seen a big resurgance in the past year. Even though we have been in a down economy, this neighborhood has managed to transform in what seems like over night. Some new apartment complexes have popped up and a lot of the older houses have been cleared to make space for new residential developments. Dallas is one of the faster-growing cities in our country, so in my opinion, I think this area is here to stay. Uptown is well-established, so I don't think the guys on McKinney will take too much of a hit in their business if this Knox-Henderson area keeps the momentum going throughout the Summer and for years to come!
